Tad Mayer is president of Career Negotiations. As a career coach, trainer, and speaker, as well as an executive coach, he empowers professionals to advance. As a career coach, he has co-authored the forthcoming book Own the Job Hunt. Tad uses the OJH model to create relief, hope, direction, and results in the form of fulfilling trajectories for frustrated professionals feeling stuck in their careers. As an executive coach, he helps leaders identify roadblocks and figure out how to overcome them.

In addition to working with individuals, Tad assists companies by providing internal career path support for their high-potential early professionals. Overall, he has helped people advance in their organizations and their fields, as well as shift from sales to logistics, communications to finance, academia to consulting, writing to therapeutic counseling, transportation to technology, freelance to fulltime, and more. Tad has conducted workshops and webinars on career development for organizations such as General Assembly, MIT, Harvard University, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Hult International Business School, Women in Sustainability (Boston), Ocean State Business Expo, Mediation Works Incorporated (MWI), Essential Partners (fka Public Conversations Project), and various career centers and networking groups.

 

As an adjunct professor, Tad has taught negotiation courses at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University and has guest lectured at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and MIT Sloan. Tad is a member of the MWI, Habitus Incorporated, and Talk Support panels of negotiation trainers and coaches. He has worked with clients including General Motors, Coca-Cola, BMW of North America, Tufts University, The Fletcher School, Harvard Law School, Program on Negotiation at HLS; Boston College Law School, Suffolk University Law School, New England Law Boston, and WilmerHale.

Tad has been quoted in online venues like USNews and his writing has been featured in books such as Money Talks: 100 Strategies to Master Tricky Conversations about Money. Tad has been Manager of Domestic Pricing at Northwest Airlines, Director of Partner Marketing at Sheraton Hotels, and Director of Commercial and Corporate Programs at Mediation Works Incorporated. He has an MBA from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College, a BS in Communication Studies from Northwestern University, and completed courses in Negotiation, Dispute Resolution, and Mediation at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
