Woburn Chamber of Commerce Network Gatherings

Our monthly network gatherings are one of the many benefits our members enjoy. We are committed to providing networking opportunities to out members. We encourage you to invite friends and colleagues so they too can benefit from the opportunity to expand their connections.

A fund has been established to help the merchants whose storefronts were lost in the massive downtown fire. On Tuesday, March 8th a massive 3 alarm fire devastated a block of businesses in downtown Woburn.
Several local merchants lost everything in their businesses. These are not just businesses but our friends and neighbors who have now lost their sole means of supporting their families.
David Hunt of Woburn has established a fund at TD Bank in Woburn that will be distributed to these merchants so they can continue to pay their rents, mortgages and other living expenses.
100 % of all donations will be divided among the merchants whose businesses were burned out and not able to quickly reopen.
Please help us by also sharing this through your social media! You can donate to help these merchants by sending a check to:
Woburn Downtown Fire Relief Fund
c/o TD Bank 280 Montvale Ave. Woburn, MA 01801
No donation is too big or too small

We would like to thank Scoreboards for hosting our January Network Gathering. Frank Vento and his friendly staff made us feel right at home! Our free monthly networking events are one of the many benefits the Woburn Chamber of Commerce adds to the local business community. They would not be possible without the generous hospitality of our hosts. Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill is a great place to host a casual business event or team building night. Thank you, Frank and to your staff for making us feel welcome. It was great to see old friends and a few new faces too!

Thank you to OPKO Health for joining us at the library and teaching us more about what the future of medical research.

Our last Innovation Series presentation of 2015 was held on December 3rd at the Woburn Public Library. We have been proud to partner with the library on this innovative idea to give to the people of Woburn an insight into the fascinating world of science and technology that is growing right here and influencing the world. OPKO Health is a Woburn company that is on the cutting edge of diagnostic research.

The Innovation Series is an opportunity for science and technology enthusiasts to feast their brains on new concepts and ideas. It is also an opportunity for people thinking of entering these fields to learn more about what is needed to prepare and succeed in the field. Woburnites who get excited to learn more about the happenings in their community also enjoy this series as they bloom with pride over the accomplishments of businesses growing in their backyards.

We extend a huge Thank You to Hugo and his staff at the Taste of Brazil for hosting our October Network Gathering. Hugo was a gracious host and provided all who attended with a delicious meal and attentive service. It is because of the generous support of our members who host these events that we are able to provide free monthly networking events. Our network gatherings provide an opportunity to stay connected with local happenings, meet new contacts  as well as bend the ear of local elected officials as they often stop by our events. Our next event will be our Annual Meeting at the Crest View Plaza on November 12th from 8 to 10 am. RSVP today to join us in honoring Murtha Cullina LLP our business of the year, the Woburn Moose Family Center with our Humanitarian Award and meet and greet with our esteemed panel of speakers: Mayor Scott Galvin, Senator Kenneth Donnolly, Representatives Jay Kaufman and James Dwyer.

At the Woburn Chamber of Commerce we would like to take a moment to Thank Rachel Floyd from Janis Research. Rachel recently presented for our Innovation Series at the library. Her audience was treated to an informative and fun look at cryogenics, cryogenic research and application. Janis Research is a company built on inspiration, hard work, innovation and a deep love of scientific research. They have custom built a facility on Wildwood Avenue from which they hope to never leave. It is thoughtfully designed for the work they currently do with room for future expansion. The cryogenic instruments being designed and built by Janis Research right here in Woburn are shipped around the world and used in a myriad of exciting ways. Thank you Rachel for giving us a glance into this interesting world and for taking the time to share it with us. Thanks also to Ann Carroll from Janis Research for her assistance  as well as to Woburn Public Library for hosting and cultivating this speaker series.

The Woburn Chamber of Commerce would like to wish all its member and the entire Woburn community a happy and healthy holiday season.

We have some big things planned on the horizon for 2015 and hope to see you all in the new year!
